About James

James McCoy, a Project Management Professional with 35+ years of experience in PMO development and leadership, embodies resilience in the face of challenges. He has a remarkable track record of navigating businesses through tumultuous times, as exemplified by his leadership in steering one of the largest PMI chapters to unprecedented growth and profitability post-pandemic. A passionate advocate for mentoring and empowering others, James is dedicated to fostering professional and personal growth through interpersonal and leadership skills development.

Currently serving in PMO Leadership for SSP Innovations, LLC, James provides expertise in program and project management, technology implementation, and customer satisfaction. His extensive experience includes notable roles such as Senior Enterprise Program Manager at FIS and President of the PMI Mile Hi Chapter. With a background that spans corporate giants like General Electric, IBM, and Siemens Business Services, James McCoy is a highly skilled and multi-certified professional committed to delivering end-to-end program and project transformations in complex national and international settings.

His academic credentials include a degree in Electronics Engineering from ITT Institute, a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix, and a Master’s certification in Project Management from George Washington University.

James likes to take a “common horse sense” approach to problems by stepping back to the basics. While he is serious about his work, he is a bit of a goof-ball who manages to bring the party wherever he goes. James has traveled and worked in 48 states and 4 countries, but currently calls Colorado home. He enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter and her husband, 50 chickens, 1 turkey, and a dog named Lilly and enjoys outdoor family activities, riding his Can-AM Spyder, and helping others through volunteering in addition to working around the ranch.
